Thunderhead Keep and killing the spawn
I read on the GW wiki of a strategy for doing TK by going north to the spawn point once I have cleared the fort and must defend the king. I tried it but nothing seemed to spawn from the north and things came into the fort anyway and killed the king. Has this mission been changed so the spawn point is different? I've done it several times on other chars using just henchmen so it's not like I'm stuck, I just wanted to try another way but it's not working. If it still works does anyone have a screen cap so I can know if I'm going to to the right place? Tks!

The early waves have multiple spawn points to the south. There's some smaller spawns on the east and west, and a huge spawn in the center. If you just run to the choke point in the north you will miss all of these. After the epic center battle most if not all stuff should come through that northern choke point leading to the portal, but before then you have to be on your toes.

There are several waves of enemies and while the Mursaat spawn from the direction of the gate, the Stone summit spawn elsewhere. Not sure where the bonus armors spawn.
I'd recommend you simply stick with Jalis. He's all that needs to survive, so just focusing on him is enough. Also, you can safely explore once Dorian's dead. |

I've done it by by camping the spawn point, but it's not a recommended strategy
Apart from anything else, imho, it's best tried as a variation of the "defend both gates" plan and simply involves pushing out from the gates (on a 4/4 split) and meeting up to camp the spawn point. Easy win - take bonus, camp at king, let the extra jades kill for you and just slaughter what comes up the stairs. Just keep an eye on the King when he goes walkabout and it's job done |

Mouse, yes that's the way I've always done it with success on both my ranger and ele. Just looking to mix it up a bit this time through. Thanks for the info!

I've had one occasion where nothing would spawn for a long time - not until I decided to head out and look for them. That too was with henchman only.

Take a speed boost - skill or candy. Light the nearest beacon as soon as the cutscene stops, drop the torch and run across to the other one. Should never fail, in fact it is doable without a speed boost.

It is even doable when the person you are helping stands there sucking their thumb because they forgot everything you told them to do and you have to light both beacons yourself. Sorry, bad day today.
No, really, if you have trouble (sometimes an attack from the foes entering the gate slows you down), bring a piece of rock candy or a birthday cupcake to give you a speed boost. |

ah so you have to use both lighters not just one, that was my problem. Really kinda pissed me off after doing it 3 times and not getting the damn bonus.

It's not so much you need to use both torches - it's the fact that you run much slower when you're carrying one

It's completely doable without a boost. I really don't understand why people have so much trouble getting the bonus right. Maybe you have less time if you don't skip the cutscene or something?

H/H or solo bonus:-
Before killing Dagnar, use the catapult to kill the group of giants loitering outside the fort. Their knockdowns will slow down your run. Kill Dagnar and SKIP CUTSCENE!!! Flag heroes at king (optional, but makes clicking to select torches/beacons easier) Light beacons (remembering to drop torch when going between) A minor speed boost will help, but it can be done successfully even at normal speed GL |
